AMS-IX upgrades EasyAccess and expands its reach to 175+ locations in Western Europe

AMS-IX, the world’s leading Internet Exchange, announces today the upgrade of their EasyAccess service. With the upgrade AMS-IX extends its reach to another 150+ data centres throughout 11 countries, bringing the total to 175+ EasyAccess enabled locations. In addition to the 14 colocations in the Amsterdam metro area, where AMS-IX has their Point of Presence (POP’s), these EasyAccess sites are enabled in cooperation with existing partners and customers.

“The goal of our EasyAccess service is to remove barriers to connect to AMS-IX Amsterdam and make it as easy as possible for our customers to connect to us remotely from more than 175+ locations.” comments Aleksandar Mitrov, Product Manager at AMS-IX.

The service bundles international connectivity and the AMS-IX peering port into one pre-negotiated, cost-efficient and robust package. EasyAccess offers the best of both worlds: a cost-effective connection to the world's leading Internet Exchange combined with the transport through a trusted third-party carrier network. On top of that, there is one contract and one dedicated AMS-IX contact person.

“During the initial launch of EasyAccess last April, AMS-IX enabled 25+ data centres outside of the Amsterdam metro area in the Netherlands.”, Product Manager Aleksandar Mitrov continues: “Our new proposition was received very positively by many new customers and data centres. That is why we have upgraded EasyAccess with an additional 150+ data centres making EasyAccess available in large parts of Western Europe.”
