In the last couple of weeks, I received a lot of COVID-19-related messages from members and customers. In this short blog, I will talk about the effect of the worldwide containment measures on the AMS-IX interconnection platform and how these measures impacted our daily operations.

In an open letter to Dutch Secretary of State Mona Keijzer, the DDA (Dutch Datacenter Association) and the DINL (Digitale Infrastructuur Nederland, an organization of which AMS-IX is a member) urge the government to actively support the landing of internet sea cables on Dutch soil.

The COVID-19 measures have a huge impact on the digital behaviour of the people in the Dutch Caribbean. AMS-IX Caribbean, the largest internet hub for the islands of Curaçao and Bonaire, hit a new traffic peak of 27,78 Gbps.
