AMS-IX, deXes, SURF, the Amsterdam Economic Board and the University of Amsterdam have begun to develop the new Amsterdam Data Exchange (AMdEX): a neutral, non-commercial, digital infrastructure, which will allow participants to share data in a controlled and secure way under their own terms and conditions.

AMS-IX has reached a new traffic milestone. Yesterday evening around 22:00 PM AMS-IX measured a traffic peak of 10,012 Terabit per second.

The world’s largest Internet Exchanges (IXs) AMS-IX, DE-CIX, LINX, and Netnod have joined forces with the newly founded Route Server Support Foundation (RSSF) to tackle the lack of open source software suitable for high-end mission critical Route Server deployments. The ultimate goal of the cooperation is the improvement of the BGP software diversity and the strengthening of open source BGP implementations.

NBIP (Dutch National Internet Providers Management Organisation), an AMS-IX member who hosts the National Scrubbing Centre against DDoS attacks (NaWas), reported a significant increase of Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks in the last quarter of 2020.
