As a provider of a neutral peering platform, AMS-IX does not have access to the information that is being exchanged between the connected parties that peer with each other, nor does it store metadata concerning that information. AMS-IX cannot comply with requests that relate to information that it does not have access to. In the Netherlands, requests for information or warrants are therefore commonly directed at service providers who do have access to the applicable information. In case AMS-IX does receive a request for information or warrant from a Dutch Intelligence or Law Enforcement Agency, it will only work to comply if such a request or warrant is legally valid and hence meets all the criteria that the applicable law requires.
