  • Medior Network Engineer

Medior Buyer

We’re currently looking for a Medior Buyer to join our team. In this role, you’ll help ensure the continuity of our operations by managing the procurement of goods, materials, and services—while also maintaining quality, cost-efficiency, and reliable supplier relationships.

Your responsibilities

  • Negotiate with suppliers
    You’ll lead negotiations related to pricing, contract terms, and SLAs for a variety of goods and services, including equipment and co-location services. You’ll also prepare bids, RFPs, and quotes, working closely with Business Owners throughout the process.
  • Monitor quality and service delivery
    Regular checks will be part of your routine—to ensure suppliers meet expected service levels, delivery times, and quality standards. You’ll take the lead in resolving any issues that arise.
  • Identify and implement cost savings
    You’ll look for opportunities to reduce costs by renegotiating contracts or, where appropriate, discontinuing underperforming agreements.
  • Manage supplier relationships
    Maintaining a professional, consistent approach across all supplier interactions will be key. You’ll represent AMS-IX in ongoing communications and ensure strong, effective working relationships.
  • Maintain contract records
    You’ll keep our contract and supplier database accurate and up to date, including setting relevant alerts and reminders.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting
    You’ll contribute to budget planning by analyzing trends, forecasting demand, and identifying opportunities for savings, working alongside our Business Owners.

Your profile

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Fluency in Dutch and English (both written and spoken)
  • Experience in a technical or procurement team is a strong advantage
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Familiarity with P2P systems (e.g., Exact, Afas) is preferred
  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus

Medior Network Engineer

Note: For this position, you need to be based in the Philippines.

We’re looking for a Medior Network Engineer to join our Engineering team. In this role, you’ll contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of our switching platform and play a key part in supporting our global customer base—24/7.

Your responsibilities

As a Medior Network Engineer, you’ll be involved in both the operational and developmental side of our platforms. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Manage and maintain the AMS-IX switching platform
    You’ll help keep our switching environment running smoothly and adapt it as we continue to grow. This includes regular configuration and support work.
  • Support day-to-day operations
    You’ll be part of the team responsible for managing the daily operations of our IX platforms across the globe.
  • Implement new services and upgrades
    Working closely with colleagues, you’ll help design and roll out platform extensions, upgrades, and new solutions.
  • Translate technical development into performance improvements
    You’ll take ideas from our product roadmap and help turn them into tangible enhancements for our customers.
  • Collaborate across technical teams
    You’ll maintain a clear overview of the technical aspects of our services, from software development to security and engineering.

Your profile

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field
  • A Master’s degree (MSc) is a plus
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); Dutch is a plus
  • Valid driving license and willingness to travel when needed

Technical skills you bring

  • Strong networking background (Ethernet, IP, MPLS/VPLS)
  • Hands-on experience with BGP and solid understanding of routing protocols
  • Experience creating automation scripts (preferably Bash and Python)
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix environments
  • Comfortable producing detailed technical documentation
  • Good understanding of the structure of the Internet
  • Familiarity with route server concepts; BIRD configuration is a big plus
  • Experience with VxLAN/eVPN, Perl, or automation tools like Ansible/Salt is a strong advantage
