Commercial Product Manager

We’re looking for a Commercial Product Manager to join our Product team and take end-to-end ownership of a designated product portfolio. In this role, you’ll drive commercial performance, define pricing and go-to-market strategies, and ensure that our products deliver measurable value to customers and to AMS-IX. Acting as the commercial owner of your portfolio, you’ll continuously balance customer needs, technological possibilities, and profitability. You’ll work closely with Design, Development, Sales, Operations, and Finance to ensure products are scalable, secure, competitive, and financially sustainable. By strengthening portfolio coherence, improving performance, and introducing new enhancements, you’ll help AMS-IX maintain a strong value proposition.

Your responsibilities

  • Portfolio management
    • Establish and maintain a designated product portfolio, ensuring alignment with customer needs, business objectives and technological trends.
    • Support the Head of Products to manage dependencies and synergies between products across the company’s portfolio and turn it into a coherent value proposition.
  • Product Management
    • Own the end-to-end product management lifecycle for a designated portfolio of products. Define pricing and go-to market strategies.
    • Enhance commercial performance.
    • Work with technical teams to ensure scalability, performance and security of products. Improve product chain performance, develop new enhancements and products.
    • Monitor and analyse market trends.
    • Monitor product KPI’s, customer adoption and feedback.
  • Customer & stakeholder engagement
    • Lead and facilitate cross-functional collaboration between internal and external stakeholders.
    • Engage with customers/resellers/partners and act as key point of contact for products. Engage Sales and Business Development with product expertise and go-to-market strategies.
  • Profit & loss
    Ensure products generate sufficient revenue, are cost-efficient, and contribute positively to the overall profitability of the company. This entails continuously optimising products that are cost-efficient and retire products making a loss.


Your profile

  • Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • 7+ years’ experience in Product Management
  • Experience in having P&L responsibilities in similar roles
  • Experience in setting up a product catalog
  • Experience in building pricing models


Technical skills you bring

  • Able to understand customer/reseller/partner/supplier needs on business and technical level
  • Able to quickly and realistically qualify new enhancements / products

Medior Network Engineer (Costa Rica)

Note: For this position, you need to be based in Costa Rica.

We’re looking for a Medior Network Engineer to join our Engineering team. In this role, you’ll contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of our switching platform and play a key part in supporting our global customer base—24/7.

Your responsibilities

As a Medior Network Engineer, you’ll be involved in both the operational and developmental side of our platforms. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Manage and maintain the AMS-IX switching platform
    You’ll help keep our switching environment running smoothly and adapt it as we continue to grow. This includes regular configuration and support work.
  • Support day-to-day operations
    You’ll be part of the team responsible for managing the daily operations of our IX platforms across the globe.
  • Implement new services and upgrades
    Working closely with colleagues, you’ll help design and roll out platform extensions, upgrades, and new solutions.
  • Translate technical development into performance improvements
    You’ll take ideas from our product roadmap and help turn them into tangible enhancements for our customers.
  • Collaborate across technical teams
    You’ll maintain a clear overview of the technical aspects of our services, from software development to security and engineering.

Your profile

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field
  • A Master’s degree (MSc) is a plus
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); Dutch is a plus
  • Valid driving license and willingness to travel when needed

Technical skills you bring

  • Strong networking background (Ethernet, IP, MPLS/VPLS)
  • Hands-on experience with BGP and solid understanding of routing protocols
  • Experience creating automation scripts (preferably Bash and Python)
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix environments
  • Comfortable producing detailed technical documentation
  • Good understanding of the structure of the Internet

Project Portfolio & Delivery Lead

We’re looking for a Project Portfolio & Delivery Lead to join our Design team and oversee the strategic management of the entire AMS-IX project portfolio. In this role, you'll ensure coherence, prioritisation, and transparency across all projects, programmes, and initiatives, guaranteeing that every activity demonstrably contributes to AMS-IX’s strategic objectives. Acting as the driving force behind execution, you'll remove roadblocks, stimulate progress, and enforce the right delivery cadence across Research, Design, Development, and Adoption. By strengthening structure, governance, and decision-making, you'll create a consistent and high-performing delivery environment and help AMS-IX evolve toward a higher level of delivery maturity, achieving improvements that are faster, more predictable, and sustainable.


Your responsibilities

Strategic Portfolio Management

  • Maintain and govern the AMS-IX project and initiative portfolio in alignment with strategic goals
  • Ensure visibility on status, priorities, dependencies, and resource capacity.
  • Facilitate intake, planning, and prioritisation to enable transparent decision-making.

Execution & Delivery Control

  • Drive progress across the full lifecycle, from Research through Adoption.
  • Identify risks, bottlenecks, and delays early, and coordinate mitigation.
  • Ensure projects adhere to agreed frameworks, timelines, and governance.
  • Create clear reporting and dashboards for leadership and stakeholders.

Governance & Process Excellence

  • Lead portfolio ceremonies (planning, review, steering sessions).
  • Strengthen structural alignment between Design, Development, and Product.
  • Define and continuously improve standards for project initiation, execution, and closure.
  • Promote a culture of measurable delivery and continuous improvement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as the connector between technical, operational, and business domains.

Your profile

  • 5+ years leading cross-functional project or portfolio management in a technical organisation
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Certification in portfolio or project management (PPM, Prince2, PMP, SAFe, or similar)
  • Proven success implementing governance and delivery frameworks in agile or hybrid environments
  • Excellent knowledge of English (written and spoken).
  • Knowledge of Dutch is a plus
