Epsilon will provide housing and external connectivity environments, enabling AMS-IX to efficiently serve peering partners across its North American Internet Exchanges.

Epsilon, a privately-owned global communications Service Provider, has expanded its partnership with AMS-IX (Amsterdam Internet Exchange) to include infrastructure outsourcing services for AMS-IX’s Bay Area and Chicago Internet Exchanges (IXs). The agreement enables AMS-IX to focus on its core business while benefiting from the scalability and efficiency of a virtual infrastructure model.

AMS-IX will continue as neutral platform providing IX peering services with its switching infrastructure and software as well as all support and information tools. Customers will continue to receive the same high level peering services with the added benefit of ultra-reliable and carrier-grade infrastructure underlying AMS-IX Internet Exchange Points (IXPs) in Chicago and the Bay Area.

“We are excited to expand our relationship with AMS-IX and help it to deliver a flexible, scalable and sustainable peering environment for its peering partners in North America. Epsilon has its roots in infrastructure and connectivity service management and we’re proud to be solving networking challenges for AMS-IX and creating new value for its partners,” said Jerzy Szlosarek, CEO at Epsilon. “We are big supporters of peering globally and our neutral approach is enabling IXPs across the globe to benefit from remote peering and new connectivity models.”

Epsilon connects to the leading IXPs across the globe and enables organisations of all sizes to benefit from peering through its ‘IX Connect’ remote peering solution. As an active member of the peering community, Epsilon also works with world-leading IXs to solve their networking, colocation and infrastructure challenges.

“AMS-IX was founded 25 years ago to enable the delivery of fast, stable, and cost-effective online experiences for end users. Our work with Epsilon for our Bay Area and Chicago exchanges is another step on this journey and enables us to bring new efficiency to our operations and better serve our North American peering partners. Epsilon has demonstrated its commitment to delivering neutral and high-performance housing and external connectivity that will benefit our customers,” said Peter van Burgel, CEO at AMS-IX. “I’m happy to see our partnership with Epsilon continue to evolve in Europe, Asia and now North America.”

AMS-IX operates six independent IXs in Amsterdam, Bay Area, Caribbean, Chicago, Hong Kong and Mumbai. It serves Internet Service Providers, Mobile Operators, Content Providers, Hosting and Cloud Providers, TV Broadcasters, Gaming Companies and Financial Services companies. Epsilon provides on-demand access to AMS-IX’s IXPs globally via its Software-Defined Networking (SDN) platform Infiny and is a partner in AMS-IX’s EasyAccess programme.
