The keyword to AMS-IX’ strategy is continuity. Continuity for us means amongst others: a solid financial position, platform stability and future-proof technology, high value to the customers, neutrality & independence, quality & diversity and a strong market position. The ability to be flexible and adapt the strategy to accomodate these aspects of continuity is part of our company culture, we call this Evolvability.
Important factors defining the value of the exchange are the quality & diversity of peers, both in origin and type, as well as the volume and quality of the traffic and associated routes available. We have carefully built up a top of the bill position over the years and will continue to focus on growth areas and areas that are under-represented in our view. We will continue expanding our position, increase the value of the exchange for the connected networks and make it known in an unassuming way.
Of course the ground principle of an Internet exchange - delivering packets 24x7, always and without fail – in a professional and reliable manner should be in order first and foremost " No nonsense - just bits " is our slogan.

We also care about enabling Internet progress in all sorts of ways, be it stimulating new developments regarding applications, new start-ups, sharing knowledge and open source projects. We even have a special "IX-in-a-box" service regarding the set-up of new Internet Exchanges in areas we feel that an exchange will stimulate the development of the Internet and benefit society in general.
