SIP Exchange

    AMS-IX acts as a catalist in the Dutch and European VoIP environment, actively stimulating initiatives and bringing parties together. A SIP Exchange facilitates interconnection SIP service operators for the exchange of traffic between between their respective networks. A SIP exchange is operated on a separate VLAN on the AMS-IX infrastructure and is used to exchange SIP traffic. Recent initiative for the Joint Cable Consortium SIP Exchange (JSX) was taken by AMS-IX member CAIW Netwerken.

Steps to join SIP Exchange:

  • Follow the steps in Connection Modification Procedures.
  • Fill in the appropriate Connection Modification form in which you request for a SIP connection with AMS-IX, i.e. either apply for an additional port or a Q-tag on an existing port.
  • Ready to establish SIP peering with other SIP exchange members.
