Internet Peering

The Internet Peering VLAN is the most widely used exchange service. It is the common service on which the Internet Exchange is based and where public peering is done. The service offers access to the multitude of networks connected to the AMS-IX platform with only one connection - making it very cost-efficient.

Public peering is done by ISP's, carriers, content providers and the like to decrease network costs, improve performance and increase redundancy. -- More details on the Internet Peering VLAN service.

Special VLANs

Several active Closed User Groups exist on the AMS-IX platform. For Mobile  IP Interconnection there are the GRX and Inter-IPX services and the  MDX VLAN. Mobile operators and GRX providers connect to the worlds first mobile peering point to exchange mobile data roaming traffic.

For broadcasting traffic we have a Multicast VLAN service. For private peering we offer Private Interconnects over the platform.
