For AMS-IX this year is all about infrastructure expansion. It adds no less than four new Points of Presence (PoP) to its technical platform in Amsterdam, bringing the total number of colocations onto 12. Never before in history AMS-IX installed this many new access locations in one year. AMS-IX responds with this expansion to the continuous growth of Internet traffic. In 2011 the total traffic that passed the exchange increased with 32 percent.
