Interview Job Witteman AMS-IX CEO - professionalizing AMS-IX
AMS-IX CEO Job Witteman: "In 2000 it was a cowboy kind of market, companies tried everything. One initiative failed, the other didn’t and which ever succeeded was then adopted. The professional players of that time saw their market share disappear, and then they would buy what they had lost in market share. The companies that managed to survive are the parties who have found a successful niche. Many of them later were incorporated into larger players. "
The market has also become more professional in its service to the customer. "We see that the bills are paid on time; there are real business procedures. These are very serious companies. That makes the market more responsible than a few years ago. Creativity is perhaps less, but now customers know what they want. The Internet is just there, it is as well established as electricity to your home. That was not the case twenty years ago . Now if there is no Internet connection, there is a valid and real reason to protest."
