AMS-IX announces that chairman Boudewijn Nederkoorn (director of SURFnet) has resigned after the November 2006 General Assembly, as a result of the termination of his term. Boudewijn Nederkoorn had served for six years, the maximum term for a Chairman. Mark van der Laan (Manager Interconnection Procurement, Vodafone), Board member since 2003, succeeds Boudewijn Nederkoorn as Chairman.
The Board of AMS-IX presented a nomination for the vacancy in the board prior to the 21nd AMS-IX General Meeting. Simon Hania (technical director of XS4ALL) has been welcomed to the Board after a voting procedure during the General Meeting.
