AMS-IX now offers bandwidth beyond 2Gb/s by offering its Members 10Gb/s connections

First AMS-IX Member succesfully connected through our latest 10GE connection Service

AMS-IX launched its 10GE service on 1 November 2004 (to be ordered as from 15 October 2004). AMS-IX Members are able to upgrade their excisting connection(s) with this new service through submitting the Upgrade or Additional Forms on the Member Portal. The 10GigE service will be offered with an ER (1550 nm, single mode) or LR* (1310 nm, single mode) interface.

Our engineers have succesfully connect the first 10GE Member, Open Peering, on the AMS-IX platform.
Meanwhile, other Members have also shown their interest in our new Service.
