AMS-IX Engineers Introduce RFC Draft on Route Servers at IETF78

11 August 2010

The Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMS-IX), one of the largest Internet and peering exchanges in the world, will be collaborating in the standardization process for Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) Route Servers.

AMS-IX NOC engineer Elisa Jasinska has co-authored an RFC proposal draft, presented during the 78th Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) meeting in Maastricht, the Netherlands this past July 2010. The RFC draft defines a set of standard functionalities route servers should maintain, so that current and future implementations can be referenced to fulfill the minimum requirements, as well as ensure compatibility.

This is in a continued effort by AMS-IX and its engineers in contributing to the future of the Internet structure and community.
