Sponsoring by AMS-IX

AMS-IX has a modest sponsor budget. With our not-for-profit attitude we carefully select the sponsor projects, they should be targeted, fitting and preferably not for profit themselves. In 2004 and 2005 we sponsored the Dutch ISP Kart-competition which is an annual industry event that many of our Dutch members participate in.

Furthermore we sponsored the worldwide Grid Forum Summit in 2004 when it was held in The Hague. And we have an annual party which always coincides with the Amsterdam based RIPE meeting. Additionally we sometimes sponsor (events of) our members or relations in kind by (temporarily) providing an exchange port for their use.

Apart from marketing aimed sponsoring we do some more philanthropic sponsoring in which case employees can submit a request for sponsoring for a cause they think worthy. One of last years' choices was the "I'm alive" benefit day for burn victims selected by S. Bakker.

To sponsor AMS-IX

Since we represent a unique industry association we often get requests for sponsorship of AMS-IX in various ways. We are very reluctant in having our events sponsored to avoid commercialization. In the rare occasion we do allow sponsorship our members and partners in the AMS-IX partner program and joint marketing programs get preference.
