Joint Marketing Programs

AMS-IX has established several joint marketing programs with parties in or related to the IX industry. We enter these joint marketing programs on the basis that the parties involved bring added value to the AMS-IX members. AMS-IX never has financial gain through the programs and only acts as an intermediary for its members.

Switch & Data/PAIX

Switch and Data logo The joint marketing agreement will make it easier for customers with both companies to extend their peering into North America and Europe though a single point of contact. Together, the two exchanges interconnect more than 350 unique networks of various scale regionally, nationally and internationally.

The key benefit of this agreement between AMS-IX and Switch and Data/PAIX is the density of peers available across two continents. There are 24 global carriers available to provide transport services between the PAIX sites and Amsterdam with existing layer2 infrastructure peering -- making the initial investment and time-to-market minimal. If you want more information please contact marketing@ams-ix.net.

Telehouse

The arrangement brings together the cultures and memberships of AMS-IX and TELEHOUSE’s NYIIX and LAIIX exchanges, located in New York and Los Angeles respectively. AMS-IX and TELEHOUSE will explore new channels, enabling members to swap information in areas, such as technology, trends, and services, while opening up new opportunities to respective members in both countries.

TELEHOUSE America is a carrier-neutral collocation space and services pioneer. Since 1989, they have provided secure, power-protected environments where customers can house and operate their telecommunications and network resources. Companies from a wide range of industries locate their mission critical equipment at TELEHOUSE’s collocation “meet-me-centers” in NY or CA to profit from the potential business opportunities that exist from other TELEHOUSE customers. Among the many benefits of collocating with TELEHOUSE is the ability to connect to state-of-the-art peering exchanges in New York (NYIIX) and Los Angeles (LAIIX). Through close ties to its European and Asian sister companies, TELEHOUSE also can provide continuous, cost-effective operation of network-dependent businesses globally. Neustar

Beginning 2006 Neustar will enable SIP-IX at AMS-IX, the first comprehensive suite of services designed to enable direct network-to-network peering between trading partners for voice, video and content services using Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)-based technologies such as IP multimedia (IMS) and VoIP.

The program forms the beginning of a community of neutral infrastructure service providers to deliver SIP-IX. SIP-IX will build on the existing IP network-level peering foundation provided by AMS-IX, and will provide a higher layer of services essential to enable network operators to exchange SIP traffic for advanced services. With SIP-IX, network operators offering SIP-based applications, including VoIP, IMS, Multimedia Instant Messaging, video calls and content, and Push-to-Talk over Cellular, will be able utilize existing IP network peering facilities to originate, terminate and share calls or sessions for mobile, fixed and broadband communications. For more information on SIP-IX please contact marketing@ams-ix.net.
